Unions reject NJC Employers' pay offer of 2%

7th February 2020

Further to our update last week on the NJC pay claim for 2020/21, the Employers' Side of the National Joint Council for Local Government Services has formally confirmed an offer of 2% on all NJC pay points.

This offer was immediately rejected by the Trade Union Side with representatives calling on the government to fund the pay rise.

The offer falls far short of the unions' claim for a minimum rate of £10 per hour with a 10% increase on all other points, a one-day increase in the annual leave entitlement and a two-hour reduction in the working week.

A further meeting of the Employers' Side will now be arranged to discuss next steps.
