New DBS filtering rules coming into force from 28th November 2020

20th November 2020

The Disclosure and Barring service has announced that the filtering rules for Standard and Enhanced DBS checks are changing from 28th November 2020.

This is to reflect the Supreme Court judgment which ruled that elements of the existing rules were disproportionate.

The DBS will therefore no longer disclose youth reprimands, youth warnings or youth cautions. Convictions will also no longer automatically be disclosed where an individual has more than one conviction.

Certificates processed from 28th November will have these revised filtering rules applied.
